Alton High School is pleased to announce that two senior Football players were recognized for state-wide honors by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association.
Zach Edwards
Senior Offensive Lineman - Academic All-State Team Players on this team must have been named first team all-conference by their respective conference and carry a 3.50 GPA, or better. Zach Edwards has been a three year starter for the Redbirds and the only 4 year letter winner this past season.
Ricco Gipson
Senior Line Backer - Honorable Mention All-State Team Gipson has been a three year starter and leading tackler for the Redbirds the past two seasons. He also was named Alton K of C Defensive Lineman the past two seasons as well as all Southwestern Conference for the past three seasons, including 1st Team in 2014.
